Acting for the GP owners of a medical centre who wanted to sell the business. The structure of the business led to many complex issues around tax and VAT. AGS called upon their network of ex HMRC advisors to assist with the VAT issues and successfully solved them enabling the business to be sold.

Outcome

Without the expert links and tax advisors at AGS assisting, the VAT issues would have prevented the business sale. The business owners who wanted to, were able to retire and the others were able to stay in the business and continue to help the new owners to grow the practice.

Acting for a distribution sector business where one of four directors wanted to exit. The directors didn’t want a third party sale as only one wanted to retire. To assist this request AGS structured a new holding company which provided an exit route for the senior director and allowed AGS to work closely with the remaining directors to help them improve their growth strategy.

Outcome

The director successfully exited the business and AGS continue to work with the team in developing and growing the business.

Acting for a family business where the father wanted to exit and retire whilst ensuring the next generation shares were secured in the process. This was a complex business where the AGS team needed to ringfence assets and cash as part of the sale.

Outcome

With AGS strategic tax advice the father was able to exit tax efficiently and secure the business structure for the next generation.
