Steve began his working life in industry before moving into private practice, including a top 20 firm of accountants, where he qualified as a Certified Accountant in 1989.
It was here that he met Peter Squire, with whom he set up AGS in 1989. Since then, Steve has enjoyed strategically moving the firm forward, providing him with a wealth of knowledge and experience he can pass on to any other business.
This includes the introduction of lean techniques to improve internal processes and enhance profit improvement; the development of reporting mechanisms that help focus on key business areas and reduce the management time required; and working with cloud technology and developing software infrastructure that operates in harmony with this.
Alongside this, Steve has developed a sales and marketing strategy to focus the firm’s goals and help it move forward. He also has expertise in the management of external hardware infrastructure, performance measurements and strategic planning.
He applies all these skills and knowledge when working with clients, helping them enjoy their journey as he has, while improving their profitability, safeguarding their wealth and mitigating tax using the most recent legislation available. Steve also continues to enjoy developing products through the AGS solution centre that meet clients’ requirements and assist them in driving their business forward.
His portfolio features companies of all sizes across different sectors, including construction, manufacturing and service sector businesses, as well as doctors, care homes and academies.
