Over the past 12 months, Wolverhampton
based ags has transformed itself from an accountancy firm
to a full business consultancy service, in order to respond
to the demands of the changing face of business.
ags has also recently joined forces
with newly created business finance firm, MJS. Through
MJS, local businesses and accountants can access fully
independent business finance advice. The firms have been
working together for six months to offer accountancy and
business advice, complemented by independent banking,
finance and investor options for companies seeking financial
assistance or the ability to grow.
Steve Aston, partner at ags, comments:
“Taking a reactive approach is no long acceptable,
businesses want pro-active help and advice. They also
want suppliers to work harder for their money. Simply
carrying out an audit or annual accounts is not adequate,
businesses want to be able to turn to one source for all
types of business help. Relationships have also changed
the way we work. It used to be that clients went for months
without even speaking to their accountant, now we are
practically integrated into the organisation and our advice
is trusted, respected and wanted.
“To provide clients with access
to problem solvers, ags has built up a network of links
to bank managers, solicitors, pension and investment advisors,
mortgage providers and many others.
“In addition to accountancy and
business advice, we now also cover financial planning,
marketing, legal services, consulting and IT through our
network. Working within a professional co-operative of
independent business service companies we have now created
a total business solution for clients and prospects. Results
have already shown that this one-stop concept is what
businesses have been searching for. Each business we work
with is experienced and successful in its own right.
ags has also increasingly seen business
clients turn to them for help with their personal financial
matters.
Steve concludes: “If they trust
us with their company, they are also happy to trust us
with their own money. Once again this allows them to find
different types of help from one source. As a result,
our financial planning division has just been launched
and we are confident it will be hugely successful.”
